Morghella Beach
📍 2 km · Pachino

Morghella beach is a wide stretch of golden sand in a bay between Marzamemi and Portopalo, just 2 km from our apartment. The sea is crystal clear and the seabed slopes gently. Behind the beach lies the Pantano di Morghella, a former salt pan where many migratory birds stop over, including pink flamingos. A place to spend the day between the sea and nature, without going far.
How to get there
From Marzamemi, just follow the road that runs along the sea: you'll see the beach straight away. You can park along the road, right next to the beach.
The beach
Morghella is almost entirely a free public beach, and rarely too crowded, even in high summer. If you'd rather have a sunbed and umbrella, there's a beach club (lido) that was completely renovated in 2026, with a beach volleyball court. A white boardwalk crosses the sand down to the water. It's all sand, no rocks, and the water stays shallow for a long way: perfect for children.
Our tip
In spring, look towards the salt pan across from the beach: when there's water in it, that's when the pink flamingos arrive.
