San Lorenzo Beach

San Lorenzo is one of those beaches that make you think of the Caribbean: a long stretch of fine golden sand, crystal-clear water and a shallow seabed that slopes gently. It lies just past Marzamemi's own beach, a few minutes from the village, and it's one of the best-known and best-loved on the coast: for us, the most beautiful in the area.

Getting there and parking

It's just a few minutes from Marzamemi. Around the beach you'll find both free and paid car parks.

The beach

There really is something for everyone: beach clubs (lidi) if you want a sunbed and umbrella, and long stretches of free public beach if you'd rather lay down your own towel. It's all sand, with shallow water for a long way: perfect for families with children, and for anyone simply looking for a beautiful place to spend the day.

Our tip

San Lorenzo is very popular: in high summer, everyone wants to go there. If you can, come outside the peak season, in June for example: the sea is already lovely and the beach is much quieter.
