Torre Vendicari is exactly the kind of place you hope to find in Sicily: a small organic farm surrounded by vineyards, with peacocks wandering around, centuries-old olive trees and wine they make themselves. It sits on the road leading to the Calamosche entrance of the Vendicari reserve, and the setting is simply beautiful.

At the table

The restaurant serves traditional Sicilian dishes on a veranda looking towards Noto. We went as a group of four and had the beef in wine sauce: really delicious. The wine is their own, from bush-trained vines harvested by hand, and drinking it right next to the vineyards it comes from is part of the experience.
